Woman Suing over DePuy ASR Hip Implant Tells Jurors that Recalled Metal Hip Caused Pain, Impacted Lifestyle

Overview: Carol Strum, who has filed a lawsuit over the DePuy ASR hip implant, told jurors on Friday that her hip pain became increasingly worse after being implanted with the recalled metal-on-metal hip device, Law360 reports. Strum’s case, which is seeking punitive damages, is the second of 10,000 lawsuits to go to trial. Among other things, she testified that the pain in her hip led to a revision surgery within three years of receiving the hip implant.
